Individual Ways to Give
There are many ways you can contribute to the SAE Foundation and help ensure that these programs remain relevant, engaging, accessible and affordable to all students and teachers.
Annual Fund
Annual Fund gifts are important to the ongoing success of the SAE Foundation and provide the backbone of our operating and program development budgets. These contributions provide the Foundation with the second largest source of unrestricted funding.
By making a gift to the Annual Fund, you qualify to become a member of the SAE Foundation Sustainers Club, our cumulative giving donor recognition program.
Checks or credit cards can be used to make your donation when you return the pledge card enclosed with your annual appeal letter. You can make a gift online anytime by visiting our secure donation page. Please consider making a multi-year pledge to ensure your annual participation.
The growth of our programs is dependent upon Annual Fund gifts and individual donors like you!

Endowed Fund
An Endowed Fund serves to positively impact the mobility industry and may be established for awards, scholarships or programs. Endowed funds are invested for long-term growth with the intent to fund an award, scholarship or program in perpetuity. To create an endowed fund through your personal gift please contact the SAE Foundation at (724) 772-7504. Our staff will be pleased to assist you in developing a plan that serves both your philanthropic goals and the mission of the SAE Foundation.
SAE International Membership
SAE International members can make a gift to the SAE Foundation when they apply, renew or upgrade their membership. All membership forms have an option for giving to the foundation via check, credit card, or online. If you call us to renew, ask the SAE representative about making a gift to the foundation.
Giving Circles
The SAE Foundation has established two new ways for individuals to give through the SAE Foundation Women's Giving Circle and the Fellows Giving Circle.
What is a Giving Circle? A giving circle is a group of people who share an interest, activity, or achievement. The Women's Giving Circle (WGC) and the Fellows Giving Circle (FGC) share the same goals to: 1) Provide financial resources to the SAE Foundation, 2) Educate donors and prospects about the SAE Foundation and its mission, 3) Inform constituents about the power of philanthropy, 4) Increase communication with and between Circle members and, 5) Leverage relationships and connectivity to open new doors and funding opportunities.
As a member of a Giving Circle, your individual resources are pooled with others to have a larger financial impact. In addition, you will have the opportunity to network with others who share similar values and be part of a dynamic and philanthropic group. Each group will add significant value and support to the mission of the SAE Foundation. Join today and help support these exciting and important new initiatives.
Tribute Gifts
Tribute gifts to the SAE Foundation can be a deeply gratifying way to recognize someone that inspired you along your path in science, technology, engineering or math. There are two types of gifts to help you pay tribute:
Gifts in Memory - Create a lasting memorial for a friend or loved one who has passed away by making a gift to the SAE Foundation. In Memory gifts are a thoughtful way to express your sympathy and to perpetuate the engineering profession and the mission of the SAE Foundation.
Gifts in Honor - Show those closest to you the important role they play in your life by making a gift in their honor to support the study of science and engineering.
Siegel Society
The Siegel Society was established to acknowledge the special group of dedicated friends who support the mission of the SAE Foundation through a bequest in their will, a charitable gift annuity or trust. Membership in the Siegel Society is an honor, and provides a way for us to recognize our special benefactors who have helped to secure the future of the SAE Foundation and its programs through thoughtful inclusion of the SAE Foundation in their financial planning.
Donate Your Time
At the heart of the award-winning A World In Motion® program are the hundreds of industry professionals who generously donate their time and talent each year to engage students in math and science activities and help them discover the many technical careers that exist. By becoming an AWIM volunteer, you can play an important role in the development and encouragement of the next generation of innovators.
Matching Gifts
Over 15,000 employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match contributions made by their employees to charitable organizations. To find out if your company has a matching gift policy, please check with your Human Resources Department.
How to increase your charitable giving through a matching gift
- Request a Matching Gift Form from your company.
- Complete and submit the form to SAE Foundation along with your gift.
- We will verify the form and return it to your company.
- The company issues a matching gift donation to SAE Foundation.
