Supported Programs

A World In Motion®

The award-winning A World In Motion (AWIM) curriculum joins together teachers and industry volunteers to engage students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects with this highly interactive, fun program - at no cost to schools.

AWIM blends mathematics and science while incorporating the laws of physics, motion, flight and electronics into age-appropriate activities called Challenges. Each Challenge is designed to reinforce classroom STEM curriculum. This program helps students prepare for the challenges of tomorrow through the personal exploration of the exciting world of science.

During the hands-on projects, students learn from industry volunteers about the endless STEM-related career possibilities available to them. By engaging students early, AWIM becomes an important first link to developing scientists and engineers.

    F1 in Schools

In 2011, SAE International signed an agreement with F1 in Schools to manage the program in the US through its A World In Motion® program. F1 in Schools is a nonprofit company with partners committed to providing an exciting yet challenging educational experience through the magnetic appeal of Formula One. Spanning age ranges from 11 to 18, its main objective is to inspire students to use IT to learn about physics, aerodynamics, design, manufacture, branding, graphics, sponsorship, marketing, leadership/teamwork, media skills, and financial strategy and apply them in a practical, imaginative, competitive, and exciting way.
