A World In Motion® Program
The award-winning A World In Motion (AWIM) program joins together teachers and industry volunteers to engage students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects with this highly interactive, fun program - at no cost to schools.
The AWIM program blends mathematics and science while incorporating the laws of physics, motion, flight and electronics into age-appropriate activities called Challenges. Each Challenge is designed to reinforce classroom STEM curriculum. This program helps students prepare for the challenges of tomorrow through the personal exploration of the exciting world of science.
During the hands-on projects, students learn from industry volunteers about the endless STEM-related career possibilities available to them. By engaging students early, the AWIM program becomes an important first link to developing scientists and engineers.
F1 in Schools™
In 2011, SAE International signed an agreement with F1 in Schools to manage the program in the US through its A World In Motion® program. F1 in Schools is a nonprofit organization with partners committed to providing an exciting yet challenging educational experience through the magnetic appeal of Formula One. Spanning age ranges from 11 to 18, its main objective is to inspire students to use IT to learn about physics, aerodynamics, design, manufacture, branding, graphics, sponsorship, marketing, leadership/teamwork, media skills, and financial strategy and apply them in a practical, imaginative, competitive, and exciting way. Collegiate Design Series™
The SAE Collegiate Design Series (CDS) has set the standard for exceptional design competitions where engineering students obtain hands-on experience in the design, manufacture and testing of real vehicles. These college-level competitions have enhanced the educational experience of engineering students around the world and inspired the next generation of young talent. These competitions include: Aero Design®, Baja SAE®, Clean Snowmobile Challenge™, Formula SAE®, and Supermileage®.
Awards, Scholarships, Loans & Grants
The SAE Foundation supports the pathway to engineering careers by offering a full program of scholarships, loans, grants and award opportunities for high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate engineering students and professionals. These are funded by gifts from corporations, individuals and other organizations.
