Debbie Freund was one of very few women in the male dominated transportation engineering field, and as such, became a strong believer in the power and importance of educating young women about science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) careers. Through her commitment to the next generation of innovators, she generously supported the SAE Foundation with gifts and service.
Upon her untimely passing in 2014, her friends, family and coworkers, knowing of her passion for STEM and her alignment to our mission, showed their love and support through an outpouring of memorial gifts to the SAE Foundation. Debbie would truly be appreciative of the more than $6,000 in gifts donated in her memory.
