Dan Dufner – VP Large and Compact Tractors, CNH Industrial

Dan Dufner is Vice President for Global Large and Compact Tractors for CNH Industrial, a position he has held since early 2022. He is responsible for all current and future product development activities related to Large and Compact Tractors for the New Holland and Case IH brands officing out of Fargo, ND.

Prior to joining CNH, Dan spent over 26 years with John Deere where he made considerable contributions to their new product programs through engineering and business leadership roles. Dan held roles in product design, manufacturing engineering, product verification and validation, tractor product planning and program management while living in Waterloo, IA. Dan and his family lived in Tianjin, China for three years as he served as Director of Engineering for Deere’s China porfolio. From Moline, IL, Dan enjoyed leading global teams in Crop Harvesting and later served as Global Director for Hay and Forage Plaform Engineering. As Global Manager for Large Tractor Engineering in Waterloo, IA, Dan’s teams led the development of Deere’s largest tractor program rin history. He then transitioned to lead John Deere Electronic Solutions as General Manager in Fargo, ND. Dan spent time at a dealer organization leading all aftermarket (parts and service business) and integrated solutions for True North Equipment in Grand Forks, ND.

Dan grew up on a North Dakota farm growing small grains, edible beans and alfalfa. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Dakota and an MBA from the University of Northern Iowa. Dan is a member of SAE and ASABE (American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers).

As much as he enjoys developing product, he gets satisfaction from leading teams and mentoring on communication, accountability and driving to business results. Dan is passionate about the Ag industry and his real love (after his wife and 4 kids, of course) is tractor pulling.
