Inspiring Innovation – STEM in Action
There is so much to be proud of as we reflect on 2024. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we provided powerful and life-changing hands-on learning experiences to more than 177,000 students.
Sometimes it only takes one connection to inspire innovation. That was the case when Rebecca Vollmann spoke with a teacher at Avalon Middle School in Orlando.
Working together with the SAE Foundation, Rebecca brought the A World In Motion® (AWIM®) Fuel Cell and Motorized Toy Car challenges to more than 60 students. You can read Rebecca’s story on page 8.
Your generous support made these stories possible. We hope you will be inspired by our 2024 Year in Review.

Driving Community Impact
In local communities around the country, we are transforming the lives of young learners by providing early access to hands-on STEM education. Our donors and community partners are playing an essential role, working with educators to help students build brighter futures. Here is one example.
Detroit, Michigan

14,000 K-2 students in Detroit Public Schools Community District now have access to hands-on STEM education. Thanks to the alliance between corporate donors Bosch, Cummins Inc., Ford Motor Company, General Motors and American Honda Motor Company, Inc., nearly 100 teachers received training for AWIM® STEM curriculum including Rolling Things, Making Music, and Engineering Inspired by Nature.
Classroom programming was also combined with mentorship from experienced industry volunteers to make a real and lasting impact on the community.

“I am so excited for DPSCD’s collaboration with SAE this year, bringing A World In Motion® engineering design experiences to over 450 K-2 classrooms. Integrating engineering design into K-2 classrooms can spark curiosity and creativity from a young age. It’s wonderful to see collaborations like this that enrich educational experiences for students. We are so grateful for the partners who make such initiatives possible and for the bright futures they’re helping to cultivate.“
