Steve Rober – Senior Vice President and Global Head of Advanced Electronics & Semiconductors, Stellantis

Stephen Rober was named Senior Vice President and Global Head of Advanced Electronics & Semiconductors at Stellantis in 2023. Prior to that he was Senior Vice President and Global Head of Automotive Research & Advanced Engineering at Stellantis (FCA) since joining FCA in 2019. His responsibilities have included advanced electronic architectures, internal development of ADAS/Autonomy systems, Connectivity, Infotainment and battery chemistry development.

Stephen started his professional career at Motorola corporate research in 1995. He joined Motorola Automotive in 1997 (acquired by Continental in 2006) where he had increasing responsibilities in powertrain, body and chassis controls, sensor development and custom semiconductor design.

He joined Freescale Semiconductor in 2010 to lead the powertrain and driver information microcontroller businesses. In 2012 Stephen was named Global Head of the standard 8/16/32-bit automotive microcontroller business. He was also responsible for the Joint Development Program between Freescale and ST Micro.

In 2013 he joined ST Micro as Vice President of Automotive for the Americas.

Stephen joined Lear Corporation in 2014 where he served as Global Vice President of Electronics Engineering. In 2018 he was named Head of the Electronics Business Unit. In 2019 he assumed the additional responsibility for the Wire Harness and Terminals and Connectors engineering teams.

Stephen earned a Ph.D. in Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA in Analytic Finance from the University of Chicago.

Stephen was born in Toledo, Ohio, USA.
